Marvel: Avengers Alliance Tactics is a 3D turn-based tactical RPG game with base building and PVP elements. A large World Map connects the player's home base to the rest of the game world. The player takes on the role of a new SHIELD Commander located in the Savage Land where a new threat, Incursions, are drawing the attention of SHIELD's enemies. Gameplay itself is turn-based, featuring up to 4 of the player's own characters versus any number of AI-controlled enemy combatants (up to 7). In PVP, the fights are capped to 4 vs. 4. Defeating opponents and completing Assignments earns in-game currency, which the player spends to upgrade their roster of heroes and strengthen their home base.
Like its predecessor, M:AA Tactics is based on characters and storylines from the Marvel universe. M:AA Tactics is developed by Playdom, the same studio that released Marvel Avengers Alliance in 2012.
The game is available worldwide via the social-networking website, Facebook. After six weeks in closed beta, Marvel: Avengers Alliance Tactics (nicknamed "Martac" by the developers), launched worldwide on June 2nd, 2014.
